The original swing
Born in Harlem's ballrooms in the late 1920s, Lindy Hop is joyful, bouncy, and improvised. Its signature swing-out is the move you'll want to do all night.

The HOP is Denver Swing Dance's weekly Friday night: Lindy Hop and Balboa classes, a beginner class included with admission, then three hours of social dancing.
A night at The HOP
Come early to sharpen your Lindy Hop or Balboa, catch the beginner class at 8, then dance the rest of the night away. Tickets are sold at the door.
7:00 to 7:50 PM. Build the core of Lindy Hop: connection, rhythm, and the swing-out.
7:00 to 7:50 PM, running alongside Fundamentals. Close-embrace swing made for fast tempos.
8:00 to 8:30 PM. Never danced before? Start here. It comes with your dance admission.
8:30 to 11:30 PM. Three hours of DJ'd swing music on one of Denver's best dance floors.
What we dance
The HOP celebrates Lindy Hop, Balboa, and the other swing dances born alongside big band jazz.
Born in Harlem's ballrooms in the late 1920s, Lindy Hop is joyful, bouncy, and improvised. Its signature swing-out is the move you'll want to do all night.
From the dance halls of Southern California, Balboa is danced in close embrace with quick, subtle footwork, perfect for the hottest, fastest tunes.
Solo jazz, Charleston, and other swing styles all have a home on our floor. Mix them, borrow from them, and make the music your own.
The HOP launch party
We launched The HOP on August 7, 2026, with live music from Hot Club of Olde Town. Here's how it looked.

First time?
Come at 8 PM for the beginner class. It's included with admission. You'll learn enough to hit the social floor the same night. Come solo or bring friends; plenty of people show up on their own.
